March is an exciting time of year at the PORTOPONG HQ we start to think warm weather thoughts and try to forget the ice storm that blanketed the United States. It also marks the time of year that everybody claims to be Irish… YES… that means it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day. Who doesn’t love leprechauns running a muck or heading out to an Irish Pub for a pint with a side of bangers and mash or for some corn beef brisket. It’s a time when going green doesn’t mean you have to drive a hybrid and talk about fuel made from corn, it means you can break out your green jager bomb cups with pride or wear your “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirt again.

March also means you have a reason to be an addicted gambler. No other month can you get in as many bets for college basketball than march… who isn’t is apart of a March Madness Pool or A Final Four Bracket at work or at school, even your co-worker who only knows teams by the cute mascot photos gets excited about sports!

It’s that time of year again – college students just got back from winter break and are now planning for Spring Break. Team PORTOPONG, know all about spring break, being the inventors of the world’s first inflatable beer pong table we have had our fair share of spring break debauchery. So we put together some sage like advice for all you looking to take a trip down coco loco way, the following 10 tips come to you with experience and regret, be sure to read through and have fun. Don’t forget that a poolside game of beerpong with a PORTOPONG is always the #1 tip from us but read through these other good ideas:

Let people know where you are going. Just because your in college and have this new found freedom, it is still a good idea to tell someone that you will be out of the country for the exact days and what flight number your own.

Stay with a group of friends at all times. No one is going to attack a squad of people, the numbers are just not in there favor. Don’t go it alone. Follow the buddy system to the tenth power and all will be good.

Put plenty of ‘lube’ on! Make sure you are wearing sunscreen when outside. Nobody wants to be the person in every photo that looks like a chili pepper and can’t go out at night because they are do busy hosing down with aloe vera.

Shot! Shots! Shots! Sometimes water! If you’re planning to drink on spring break (yes – duh we know that’s why you go), make sure that you are also consuming plenty of H20 – not Gatorade or Red Bull.

Trust in your friends. After a couple of drinks you may think you are always right and the guy with the aviator sunglasses and shinny badge thing is a jerk, but you went on spring break with friends – trust in them if they say stop or no.

The most amazing deals for you. When you land and go through the airport terminal a flood of people are going to come up to you and say they are part of a travel agency waiting for you, they will offer you amazing offers for added fun. They all come with hidden costs and tricks. Stick to the plan and just make a bee line for the bus outside or van you arranged for.

Mom what do I do? At the time you need it most is when it won’t be available or way out of budget. Plan to bring a small first aid kit with some U.S. based over the counter drugs. Your mom or resident family nurse won’t be able to tend to you.

Did you bring protection? We actually aren’t talking about safe sex, although you should always practice safe sex, we are talking about bringing a key chain size canister of mace should you need to ward off any unwanted visitors.

Know your cellphone! We all love posting on facebook and twitter – it is apart of our culture and who want to see you double fisting two pina coladas at the beach with 20 people around you with yellow wristbands doing the same. But – in case you didn’t know your cell phone devices are out of the country so you are going to pay almost triple the costs. Either turn your data off on your phone or get an international plan.

Watch out for balconies! Yes it might be one of the coolest pictures of your life to lean over the balcony with sunglasses on and a bottle of booze, but falling off the balcony probably gonna cause death to become you – and that’s no fun for anyone..

At PORTOPONG, we wanted to create not just the world’s first inflatable beer pong table but also the best inflatable beer pong table on the market! We understand that with a product like ours others others were bound to go off and try to make a variation and know in today’s online world everyone utilizes comparison shopping, that’s why it is important to not judge a portable pong table by its cover.

You need to know what the difference is between brands. Why do all other brands follow the price mark of PORTOPONG, why do all other brands choose the same color as PORTOPONG, why do all other brands not show action photos of their product in use – yet PORTOPONG has 1000′s of photos in its photo library?

Now let’s discuss quality, in the photo above we show a generic table on the right and a PORTOPONG inflatable beer pong table on the left. The first set of images on the top are of the air valves. Notice on the PORTOPONG table the valves are double reinforced and have two types, one for rapid inflating with an air pump and another for manually inflating by mouth. The photo on the right shows only one style air valve and being of poorer quality actually popped out on us when we blew it up.

The second grouping of photos (lower set) shows how the two tables differ in rack formation, notice the PORTOPONG table uses more material and reinforced cup holders to ensure cups from blowing around and movement in play. While the photo on the right shows how the table uses a triangular cavity with a thin plastic webbing. This design can cause cups to tilt and who know what will happen during a gust of wind while shooting at that last cup!
